ENVIRONMENTAL TOUR

The Forest Trail

The respectful behaviour of people has preserved a very peculiar flora, enriched by a number of beautiful species of wild orchids. This itinerary includes a visit to the Botanical Museum, a fundamental moment for discovering the richness and beauty of the vegetation of the Lessini Natural Park. During the visit, you will observe through a microscope the most hidden and curious characteristics of plants and flowers. Then, you will approach the protected area of the Waterfall Park and discover its naturalistic attractions, its history and its landscape. The guide will highlight the importance of the Park and the initiatives in which it takes part: the study and preservation of the environment, the relationship between men and the ecosystem, and the possibilities for a sustainable development. Walking through the flora of the Park, you will finally have a chance to see in their natural environment the species of plants and flowers you had previously observed in the Botanical Museum.

The Bridge Trail

This is a particularly scenic environmental tour, during which you will have a chance to come into contact with the changes of the landscape over time. You will start with a visit to the Veja Bridge, an exceptional natural monument. It is not easy to describe in words the magnificence of this natural architecture! What the visitor sees by getting there is a massive bridge made of stone, and an arch, below which flows a brook. The guide will first take you on top of it, then, following a trail, you will be taken to the lower area, where you will be able to get a full view of the place, noting the contrast between the red color of the arch and the grey of the limestone of the lower strata. The Veja Bridge represents the access-gate to a huge karstic cave, and it is what remains after the fall of the central vault: the rocks amassed in the area below the bridge testify to these events, which probably took place in relatively recent times. The tour ends with a visit to the Waterfall Park, the spectacular natural oasis where many charming natural beauties – waterfalls, streams, ponds and lush vegetation – accompany the visitor during the walk. The trail takes you down to the centre of the gorge, following the slow brook that creates little ponds. But in some parts the brook becomes faster creating stunning bubbly waterfalls falling along the vertical walls of nude rock.
